Election Overview
Each spring semester, the Missouri Students Association (MSA), Mizzou’s student government for undergraduate students, hosts the annual election for Senators for the next school year.
Here is a breakdown of the MSA Senate as voted on by students in a campus wide
referendum in Fall 2005:
There will be 71 members in all.
50 will be elected by students in their school or college.
20 will be elected at-large by the already elected Senators
in Fall 2010.
1 seat will be reserved for the Senate Speaker.
The 50 seats that will be filled in the upcoming election will be delegated
proportionally to each of the 11 schools and colleges of the University. So,
the percentage of the 50 seats each school or college gets will be equal to
the percentage of undergraduates enrolled in that school or college.
As with the MSA Presidential election, voting will take place online over a
48-hour period from March 22-24th.
